Sit With: Ever-Changing Nature of Ourselves

In this episode, we contemplate the aspects of ourselves that we tend to mask and hide. We are reminded of our fluidity and the power it holds to create, connect, and relate to the world.

Creativity is an exploratory process to find the concealed material within.
— Rick Rubin

We are ever-changing and experience and express inconsistencies, contradictions, and irrational aspects of ourselves. We may strive for consistency and alignment with our values. However, missing the mark and straying is what makes us human, relatable, and sincere. We often try to hide or mask these idiosyncrasies, but art will often expose them to the world. People are touched and moved by vulnerability.

Questions for Inquiry:

1. What aspects of yourself do you tend to hide from the world?

2. How can you start to reclaim those aspects of yourself?

3. How can you use that knowledge to heal, create, and be more fully in your community?
